If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need.

True magic is the art and science of changing states of mind at will.

I try to photograph people’s spirits and thoughts. As to the soul-taking by the photographer, I don’t feel I take away, but rather that the sitter and I give to each other. It becomes an act of mutual participation.

To all those outside the inner side
Let not your heart be heavy
There are those who understand
It is not easy, it is not easy to tell a lie
To all those inside the outer side
Let not your head be heavy
There are those who understand
It is not easy, it is not easy to know what to do
And to all those who understand
Let not your words be heavy
There is He who understands
It is not easy, it is not easy to be a mother and a father
How did the rose
Ever open its heart
And give to this world
All its beauty?
It felt the encouragement of light
Against its being,
Otherwise,
We all remain
Too frightened.

Go and make interesting mistakes, make amazing mistakes, make glorious and fantastic mistakes. Break rules. Leave the world more interesting for your being here. Make. Good. Art.
Neil Gaiman
Sorrow is knowledge, those that know the most must mourn the deepest, the tree of knowledge is not the tree of life.
Lord Byron
Perhaps it will seem to you that the sunshine is brighter and that everything has a new charm. At least, I believe this is always a result of a deep love, and it is a beautiful thing. And I believe people who think love prevents one from thinking clearly are wrong; for then one thinks very clearly and is more active than before. And love is something eternal–the aspect may change, but not the essence. There is the same difference in a person before and after he is in love as there is in an unlighted lamp and one that is burning. The lamp was there and it was a good lamp, but now it is shedding light too, and that is its real function. And love makes one calmer about many things, and in that way, one is more fit for one’s work.
Vincent van Gogh

The lofty pine is oftenest shaken by the winds; High towers fall with a heavier crash;
